Use of Preventive Services

Facts

Men are less likely than women to seek preventive assistance and visit a doctor without being prompted.

Lack of health awareness and lower number of visits to a doctor reduce the chance of early detection of illness and may contribute to late diagnosis. The effects of heart disease or diabetes mellitus can be reduced if the conditions are detected and treated earlier.
