Shall We Talk, Man?
When facing pressure and experiencing difficult times, some men will choose to keep their worries to themselves or deny the problem. Unfortunately, this way of "problem handling" cannot solve the real issues, and it may add up pressure, affect relationships, and even lead to more serious psychological problems.
A survey on practice and attitude in problem handling among local men was reported in newspapers lately. Findings showed three quarters of the male respondents reported experiencing stress from work, finance, relationship, family and health, nearly 40% expressed that they would not share feelings with others easily, and about 10% thought that it was shameful to seek help from social services.
When facing difficulties, sharing with people you trust is helpful irrespective of your age and sex. The stress may sometimes be relieved after talking with your partner or a friend. Talking about your feelings or seeking help is not a sign of weakness.
If you do not feel comfortable talking about yourself in front of others or with anyone you know, you can try telephone counselling services which can give you opportunity to discuss things anonymously. It has worked well for many men.

Be a smart modern man, remember to seek help and counselling when in need!
