Have Safer and Fun Sex; Fight AIDS
Hey guys, let's admit it. We all love sex, and for very good reasons.
Sex is fun! Healthy sex life helps keep us fit. Sex gives us joy. It may also help us look younger. A study has shown that people who have sex at least three times a week may look more than 10 years younger than those who have sex twice a week. Safer sex is thus part of a healthy lifestyle.
By practising safer sex, you will be less at risk of AIDS and other sexually-transmitted infections. You may even live longer to enjoy more fun sex.
World AIDS Day 2004 is commemorated around the globe on 1 December. Although the theme for the World AIDS Campaign 2004 focuses on women, and HIV and AIDS, there should not be any complacency among men about AIDS.
Figures from the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health showed that among the 73 people who were tested positive for the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) antibody in the second quarter of 2004, 53 were men. Of the 73 new HIV cases reported, 39 acquired the infection via heterosexual contact, 16 via homosexual or bisexual contact. Of the 13 new Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) cases reported in the same quarter, 62% were related to heterosexual contact.
In Hong Kong, about 80% of HIV positive people were infected through sexual contact. In fact, unsafe sex is responsible for various types of diseases that are spread by having sex with an infected partner.
Regardless of your sexual orientation, safer sex is thus the first step to a fun and healthy sex life.
