Alcohol Intake
Facts
Men are more likely than women to drink alcohol excessively.
Excessive intake of alcohol contributes to many causes of death and illness, including cirrhosis and cancer of the liver, cancer of mouth, hypertension, stroke and road injuries.
Binge drinking, which means drinking heavily over a short period of time, and is usually defined as the consumption of at least 5 glasses/cans of alcohol on one occasion, is particularly hazardous to health because it may result in acute intoxication.
