Facts
Men are more likely than women to violate traffic rules.
Poor behaviours or habits of drivers, passengers and pedestrians, such as exceeding speed limit, drink driving, not wearing seat-belt and jay-walking, contribute to a great number of road injuries and fatalities every year. Higher proportion of men sustains injuries or dies from road accidents when compared to women.

Among those who had driven a vehicle in the last 12 months:
All or most of the time break speed limit by 15km/hour or more
Male: 17.4%
Female: 11.3%
Drive within 2 hours after drinking alcoholic beverages for at least one time in the past month
Male: 6.4%
Female: 0.7%
As a passenger:
None of the time use seat-belt where it is mandatory and available
Male: 5.0%
Female: 3.6%
As a pedestrian:
All or most of the time jay-walk
Male: 9.1%
Female: 5.3%
